Do I need a prescription from my doctor to come to physical therapy?
No. New York State allows patients Direct Access to Physical Therapy services without a prescription from a physician for 10 visits or for services provided within a 30 day time period. If services are required beyond the 10th visit (or 30th day), a prescription is needed. This requirement is for all patients receiving Physical Therapy treatment in New York State including those paying privately.
Also, it is very important to check with your insurance provider to see if Physical Therapy services without a prescription will be reimbursed. Please note that most insurance companies in New York State do NOT cover physical therapy services without a prescription.
I have an old prescription from my physician. How long is my prescription good for?
A doctor’s prescription is good for 30 days.
Can I choose where I go for physical therapy services?
Yes, it is ALWAYS your right to choose where you receive Physical Therapy
During your initial visit, we will discuss your medical history and current symptoms. After a comprehensive assessment is completed we will review the findings and develop a treatment plan that addresses your concerns and goals. When all of your questions are addressed, your treatment will begin.
How many treatments will I need?
Each person is different. At the time of your initial assessment, we will discuss your treatment plan including estimated time frames. Generally speaking, the sooner you receive treatment, the sooner you will be back in action.
Completed Forms Physical Therapy prescription or referral from your physician (if you have one) Any medical documents you believe may be helpful Also, be sure to dress comfortably, in loose-fit clothing.

For your convenience, Quantum Physical Therapy Services accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express and the Discover Card. We also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) cards.

You are able to receive immediate care for an injury. In general, the longer you wait to get treatment, the longer it will take to fix the injury. Immediate treatment will help facilitate a faster return to normal pain free activity.

In the event that a Physician consult or diagnostic testing is required, this will be facilitated for you.
